The
build of 110 Crazy Horse rifles for the 2nd Infantry Division prior to its
deployment to Iraq was commenced in September 2004. Rifles were received
by Smith Enterprise in various states, from relatively unfired to shot out.
This photo shows a box of receivers after stripping and prior to cryo treatment
and re-finishing. |
Two of the rifles
were marked XM21. Here you can see the stamping on the receiver flat just
rear of the rear sight windage stadia lines. You can also see that the original
M14 markings were machined off and then replaced with an electric pencil.
